It took them 2 weeks to respond and another week for me to get the e-mail. I sent the Green Party of Canada a notice indicating my interest in their leadership after E-May stepped down.
I was turned away. They said that I was not a green party member therefore could not put my name in the hat.
Sent out another request but this time as an “Independent” (non-member)inter rum leader.
I asked if it can be brought up for discussion between the three elected MPs and their caucus.
Rules are made to be broken and or “tinkered” with. We see that with laws and politics.
Got a swift reply from Zahra Mitra, the one coordinating the applications stating again that the rules state that one must be a member. Therefore you can either become a member (we will send you a leadership package) or forget the whole thing. (Not in those exact words).
The world is changing rapidly on many fronts. It would be nice to see fresh ideas, plans, Visions of a better future for all of life on this planet. I have many and it seems very few people are reading, understanding them or taking them seriously.
Being a member would restrict me from challenging our evolved destructive lifestyles. Those of spoiled Canadians and the many millions who use and abuse energy too freely around the planet. As an Independent I could voice that concern without interfering with their “constitution”. Political parties are not allowed to challenge “the way things are”.
It is the pyramids of wealth and poverty that has to be addressed first, then the pollution all of the people are spewing. Some have no choice but to pollute just by surviving, others do it unconsciously and recklessly. And do they ever.
Just thought I would let my 70 or so followers know what I did.
