We know for a fact that there is a long list of other pollutants associated with the vehicle. More then the internal combustible engine itself as some put forward as the green solution.
We still need to build roads which means paving. We will never catch up to an ever increasing number of vehicles. Fix one bottleneck and three more are created further down. Light, vibration, air displacement, energy consumption, disposal,… will still all be there!

If Governments were to spend a lot of money/energy/time/resources on infra-structure, let it be the one that we would need if factors are changed. We should not plan our master transit design until the personal automobile has been out of the picture for a couple or a few years.
This goes for the city elections as well! Mayor wanna-bees of Toronto “Imagine no more personal vehicles on the road!”. No more traffic, goods move fast and freely. Mini vans and mini buses and larger buses will abound going in all directions.
Every day walking to and from work I watch/see/notice hundreds of vehicles with one single passenger in them! That is just one street. They are all like that! So much energy consumed, wasted.
All of the planets people should have the opportunity, one day soon I hope, to vote on whether we should keep or phase out the personal vehicle. It would be a crucial survival test for our species!
