Out-smarting a mouse!

All of a sudden, sometime earlier this month I noticed that I had mice in my apartment. While on my computer I saw something moving out of the corner of my eye. Yup, sure enough I saw one in the kitchen running across the floor.

In the four years here this is my third time I’ve encountered these little creatures. The first time a sticky paper worked. That was maybe three years ago. The next time I bought a “Tip Trap”. Gravity being the key ingredient/concept. They both worked.

This time I used the same “Tip Trap” and caught two of them in a couple of days. Just in case there was any more I bought two sticky papers and placed them at two different locations in my living room. Nothing happened.

Then a couple of days later I noticed some mouse droppings on my kitchen counter. I knew where he or they were. They hide in the stove beneath the burners. So I set up my two papers and Tip Trap on the counter. Two days went by and still no bites. He was a crafty one. Even with bait he would not step into the danger zones.

I then set up an elaborate no choice path for him to take. It worked. The last of the threesome was caught.  Here is a picture of my set up.

In order for him to get to my rinsed out dishes or toaster with bread crumbs  and sink for water droplets he had to cross my fence. His two choices were the paper which he refused to take even with  a piece of cheese in it or my “Tip Trap” which had some dried cranberries squished into the end cap. That is the path he took!

The mouse  along with his other two buddies were released outside nine floors down unharmed.

So boring, tired of talking about politics or females here I am talking about mice.
